Description: The Beaver started the fur trade which opened
up the North. It is still very plentiful in the N.W.T.
Hand-carved as a solid piece, this is from a piece of locally
harvested Birch. The Beaver's teeth are made from Caribou
horn. The wood has one small crack in base (caused by natural
drying and which has been repaired with wood glue by artist).
